Not long ago a tornado found its way through Gallatin, Tn, destroying numerous large exspensive homes. They sent engineers in to study the damage. What they found was, is that many of them were constructed poorly. Sections of brick walls with little or no wall ties to secure them properly...They found framing with to few nails.. not enough bracing lumber in place.. etc;.. Most builders are at the mercy of their subcontractors.. "You cannot see the most important aspects to building a home, once it is built!" It has taken several years to aquire subcontractors who were capable.. or willing to learn our special techniques. Any time we would consider hiring a sub, we informed them up front.. that if they did not perform their work to our satisfaction, from the start.. then we would pay them for their time.. and do the work ourselves..
